Boring

One edition a day · Free to read

The news, without the noise.

Once a day, Boring publishes one edition of about 10 stories. Each is retold plainly, with every fact sourced. When you reach the end, that’s the news.

How it works

One edition, then it ends

About 10 stories a day, ranked by how widely they were covered, never by engagement. There is no endless feed.

Every fact has a source

Each story is retold plainly. Every fact cites the outlets it came from, and a separate AI check removes anything the sources don’t support.

How it was covered

One line on how left-leaning outlets covered a story and one for right-leaning outlets. It describes the coverage, never who is right, and says so when the coverage didn’t differ. An outlet’s political leaning comes from an independent rater, not from Boring.

Your categories, your notes

In the app, pick the categories you follow, and add subcategories such as Defense, AI and Space. You can add community notes to a story, and every note must cite a source.

Written by AI, checked against sources

Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, groups each day’s articles into stories and writes them. A separate model checks every claim against its sources, and anything unsupported is removed.

Mistakes are corrected in the open

A published edition is never rewritten. When a story gets something wrong, its page shows the corrected text with a dated note and its sources, and every correction is listed on one page.
