Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Frank Strada submitted his resignation on Saturday, Gov. Bill Lee announced, after the state's attempt to execute death row inmate Christa Pike on Wednesday, September 30, failed. Pike survived two lethal injections and was hospitalized, unconscious and on a ventilator, according to her lawyers.
